Enrollment & Degree Verifications

National Student Clearinghouse (NSC)

The National Student Clearinghouse is Washington University's authorized agent for providing various enrollment-related services. All information maintained by the Clearinghouse is strictly confidential. It is not necessary for students to request enrollment or degree verification from the Office of the University Registrar or the School of Medicine Registrar for federal student loan deferments. The lenders and servicing agencies for federal student loans download this information directly from the Clearinghouse on a regular basis. Note: the anticipated degree date reported by the Clearinghouse to your loan servicers prior to your actual graduation is a calculated value based upon your year in school and enrollment status. They use it to project when you may no longer be in school and entering repayment on your loans.

Steps for Students

Current and former students who need verification of their WU enrollment or degrees may obtain a Verification-On-Demand document in PDF from WebSTAC at any time.  Simply log into WebSTAC, select Verifications on the menu, and proceed as instructed.

For verifications that require more detail, students from the School of Medicine should contact the Registrar at the Medical School.  All other requests (Danforth Campus) should be directed to  the Office of the University Registrar, as indicated below.

  • Danforth Campus students who need verification of enrollment or degrees may obtain this information at WebSTAC or by submitting a signed Student Verification Request Form.  Verification Request Forms submitted to the University Registrar are generally processed within two working days.  Current enrollment cannot be verified until the semester has begun.

  • Medical School students and alumni of the Programs in Audiology and Communication Sciences, Clinical Investigation, Genetic Epidemiology, Health Administration, Nurse Anesthesia, Occupational Therapy, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Physical Therapy, Psychiatric Epidemiology and the Schools of Dentistry and Medicine should contact the School of Medicine Registrar for verification of enrollment and degrees and other certifications. Requests may be submitted in person or in writing. Click here for more information.
